At Turtley Eco, we take pride in supporting small businesses who share our ethos of a more sustainable planet. I am so pleased to announce that as of 24th August 2019 we will now be planting one tree for every single order placed! The first location I have chosen is a project in Peru which is covered by the Amazon rainforest. This particular project is in the Madre de Dios region which is home to more than 10% of the worlds bird species and has been identified as a high risk zone for deforestation. I'm sure I've not been alone in the despair I felt watching videos of the Amazon burning. These trees will help conserve vital habitats of large mammals to small invertebrates as well as aiding sustainable livelihoods to local people. I will make the donations on the 1st of every month and upload the certificate to our Instagram highlights. The charity that I will be donating to is One Tree Planted. There will also be an option to add an extra tree to your order if you wish to.
Why I love One Tree Planted
Trees are vital for the future of our planet. They provide oxygen, conserve water, support a diversity of wildlife, improve air quality, absorb carbon dioxide plus other greenhouse gases and so much more. It is no secret that our planet is suffering - when trees are changed, reduces or eliminated the carbon is then returned into the atmosphere as CO2 which in turn has a role in warming our earths atmosphere. It is estimated that despite their importance humans have cut down nearly half of the trees on the planet so far. We need to put trees back, in any way we can. I am so so pleased that Turtley Eco can play their part in reforestation. 'The best time to plant a tree was 20 years ago. The second best time is now'.
You can now place your plastic free order knowing you are planting a tree.
About One Tree Planted
'As an environmental charity, we are dedicated to making it easier for individuals and businesses to give back to the environment, fight climate change, protect biodiversity and help reforestation efforts around the world. All by planting trees!
Started in 2014, we have more than doubled the number of trees planted year over year. Fast-forward to today, we now work with awesome reforestation partners in North America, South America, Asia, and Africa who help us get trees in the ground to restore forests after fires and floods, create jobs, build communities, and protect habitat for biodiversity.
'Small acts, when multiplied by millions of people, can transform the world'
